Description
In late 1987 a partnership between Aston Martin and the Scottish racing firm Ecurie Ecosse was formed, creating a new company known as Proteus Technology Ltd. (Protech). The AMR1 project competing for the first time during the 1989 Group C/GTP season. With Richard Williams as team manager, Max Boxstrom lead designmer and Reeves Callaway building the engines, a total of five AMR1 chassis would be finished in early 1989. Callaway used the V8 units from the newly launched Aston Martin Virage, ending up with 600hp. This is chassis #4 and was driven by Brian Redman, David Leslie and Machael Roe.
